Discuss Story Route Ideas #53

What are the possible story routes that will occur in the game? (Ex. A story route featuring childhood friend as main heroine, or a story route featuring Mr. President as the Deuteragonist of the story)

How will the endings be organized (Ex. One good, bad, true ending each story route? Or a mixture of them? Some Character Endings?)

No definite story routes are needed for this story. Some examples will suffice.

Discuss Story Structure and Branching Routes:

In a visual novel, there are multiple endings and story routes.

For us, how will our story routes be branched out and structured?

A definite storyline is not required to complete this task (although it may help tremendously) but we should have a discussion about how the story is going to be structured and how the story routes will be branched.

Questions: How will the story be organized (Chapters? Months?) How will the story routes be branched? (Have a specific point in the timeline where the stories branch out? Or have the branch come off in different points of the story?) How will the routes be broken down? (Just have a route or will it be broken to sub-routes?) What parameters will determine which route the story will follow? (Choices, Character Parameters + Affinities)

We should be able to come up with a small tree graph to show how the plots are structured. Not a graph of the complete story, but a sample that captures the idea of how it will work.

Discuss Choice System Gameplay Mechanic:

The question is for us, how does it affect gameplay?

Raise Main Character parameters? Gain relationship points with other main characters? Adjust the Main Characters Morality Gauge? Branch out story routes? In battle situations, bad choices lead to bad ends...? Etc...

We may need to have a discussion soon about how exactly choices will play in the game.

In the end, I want to create a document, defining this gameplay mechanic thoroughly.

What's the difference between this issue and #52? Can we just combine them to make them less confusing?

This one talks about the kind of endings that will be featured in the story. #52 talks about how the overall story itself is structured. Two very similar topics but the contents complement each other. The two tasks are merely broken up for simplicity's sake.
