Hello,

I was succesfully able to get this set up with manga_ocr, and the text recognition works, however I do not use a Chromium browser and would like to use firefox instead, is this possible?

If Firefox has a similar idea of "apps" that chromium has, then it should probably be possible to set it up, but I am not familiar with it. One thing to note is I would not recommend using this for manga specifically anymore. If you have manga, you can look at mokuro; it's an amazing tool. Of course, if you're not working with manga and just want an OCR that can be used anywhere, mokuro won't work. Yeah I'm not quite sure about firefox to be honest. However, note that manga_ocr will automatically copy OCR contents to your clipboard. So if you already have the firefox Yomichan search open with clipboard monitoring turned on, it should work. The only functionality you'd be missing is

  1. Automatically opening yomichan search if it isn't already open
  2. Autofocusing yomichan search

So you could just open yomichan search and either keep it open somewhere on your screen, or you could manually open after you ocr. Again, it might still be possible to automate this if Firefox has a similar notion of "apps" like chromium does, but I'm not sure, you'd have to research it yourself unfortunately if it's important to you. I think even without it, the tool is still pretty useful? you can ocr something and the yomichan search will still automatically update, you just won't get the autofocusing feature.
