@christophe-rd Nice figure! You might want to add other phenological processes as well such as radial growth (cambial activity), shoot elongation and bud set. I think you don't need to indicate the phenological monitoring time. It's more confusing since the two don't completely overlap in your graph. Why is it "theoretical" ? I would use "expected" or simply the phenological event only.
@christophe-rd This figure is lovely! I second @FrederikBaumgarten suggestion of `expected' instead of theoretical.
Also, I would present your experiment as a factorial with a an additional nutrient study: spring x fall factors with two levels of each factor = 4 treatments. So the top panel might show above what you have now: Spring (warm/cool) x Fall (warm/cool) This would stress this better. You could then slightly separate out the nutrient treatments.
I actually feel this is a weird European/North American science divide, where North Americans are REALLY into factorial experiments so if you have one you need to explain it that way (otherwise they will get confused and start wondering if you did not do a full factorial, which usually upsets them).
@lizzieinvancouver @FrederikBaumgarten, perfect, thanks for your comments! I will edit the figure.
Hello! Sorry for the delay. Here's an updated version of the figure (please focus only on the content and not the general appearance, as I need to work on this. Please let me know what you think! Fuelinex DesignV3.pdf
Happy holidays!
@christophe-rd I like it -- the bottom part is especially lovely!
@christophe-rd nice! some minor things:
Hello @lizzieinvancouver and @FrederikBaumgarten!
I created a first draft of the experimental design (with Charlotte's help of course!). Dates are very approximate:![Fuelinex Design](https://github.com/christophe-rd/fuelinex/assets/110614880/a420ddfc-879e-4f47-ae8a-6c6389003dc8)
I aim to add it to my Master's application which is due next Friday. They require it to be in black and white, so I will update the colours of the figure you see here. Let me know if you think of anything that could be added or modified!
