This is not a criticism, but by default, I would prefer the more popular zoom levels used for example by XYZ tiling (https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Zoom_levels) , and also ArcGIS (https://developers.arcgis.com/documentation/mapping-apis-and-services/reference/zoom-levels-and-scale/) .

De-facto standard zoom levels emerged in 2000's from the various web map tools.
Zoom level 0 aims to provide a 256x256 pixels image that covers the entire world. The scale and resolution is doubled on each zoom level.
