is it the pyc files, maybe? this is getting aggravating, I have no idea why the .gitignore file isn't working.

github gives you the manual command lines steps. maybe try that quick?

I'm having the same issue where I can't fetch. Maybe if you pull from your remote so that everything is updated before the merge?
