There's not a huge reason to sign up as a customer, except to have your settings saved ( Favorite Company, Barista etc ).
The profile image for a customer is also useless currently, but may come into play if a voting / rating feature with commenting is implemented.
The sign in page should be reserved for baristas, and anonymous user support should be implemented. Currently the site logic is built around having a user signed in at all times.
