as_ok() looks and reads a lot like is_ok() and this is going to be particularly painful for non-native speakers I think. But in general it looks too similar.
The value() function is standard in C++ and since this is a method that is not mirroring a Rust api (they don't need reference access cuz everything moves all the time) there's flexability to match C++ more there.
Two reasons for renaming:
