Changing the color of the flag might not be enough for seeking user attention. Idea: When more than a preset number of alerts are present,

  1. Alternate between two colors - have to investigate if this is possible without web store policy violation.
  2. Send notification to the user - especially useful when the extension icon is hidden in the menu.
