What clans should we offer at launch?

Will characters be able to come up with new clans? How will we make it possible for them to create new ones?

Are we going with one clan per character?

Just as something to look at, Empires on Khyldes' MUD have a bunch of options the clan leader can set.

Players can self discharge themselves from an empire.

There is also a list of empires you can pull with the 'empire' command which lists all the current empires, and then ranks them by score. You can then dig even deeper by typing something like 'empire 3' which shows details about the third empire on the list. This is all stuff that can easily be utilized by player run clans. Having a list of all the clans, amount of players in them, PvP kills/losses would be a cool list, and then when you did help x clan or something along those lines it would pull up all the player assigned data like, how many ranks/the rank name, the player set description of the clan. Listing the members might be cool too.

That mud also has the option to merge empires, and create alliance, both of which are things that are interesting to at least consider. Clearly these were all built with the idea of kingdoms/empires/cities in mind, but it is easy to see how you could adopt some of them for player run clans
