This is the portion of the robot that allows us to extend vertically. Current concept:
Two Misumi Slides in parallel, facing inwards and last stage attached together -> see FUN Team Great Scott for inspiration
Attached to drivetrain with maximal stability
Holds #3
Extension:
Driven independently (two different motors, 40:1 or 20:1 NeveRest) -> subject to change
Pull string on each (kevlar string) -> look up gm0 linear slide rigging for a guide
Each string is connected to a winch on each motor
Pulley inserts between each slide, attached with short head nuts -> see CAD for more details
Retraction:
Single motor (preferably 60:1 NeveRest)
String connected to the top of slide and to motor winch, NO PULLEYS (maybe one for pulling string horizontally at base) -> see FUN Team Gearheads for inspiration
Motor mounted on base plate between slides (pushed back)
Motor lets out string as extension motors run, takes in as slide comes down (rate determined in code, think an artificial gearing)
MAYBE two strings attached to the same winch, one attached to the top of each slide. This could be overengineering
