IDEA: Weights connected by a stroke

I love the idea of "Pins form hints" but I would like the weights to be applied only to lines united or very close to the stroke. Maybe it's your idea.

Something similar to "Smart Fill" or "Pinch Together" can be used to know that lines unite with each other

My goal is to make this type of rigging similar to the Puppet tools in Adobe Effects. But so far the results are not ideal and I am still improving it.

Recently I added the following options, the last two of which may achieve what you describe:

• Skip rigging the hint strokes themselves (which may sometimes interfere with the distance measurement)
• Whether to rig the whole painting or only the hinted parts.
• For each stroke, assign at most one bone to it.

As a next step, I am thinking about using other shapes as hints, for example, a lasso shape which marks the impact area more precisely. Using the algorithm of Smart Fill also sounds like a good idea and I will try it.
