Twitter Auth OK, But identi.ca Failure Causes Endless Loop #81

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Try to add identi.ca
2. Enter un & pw at identi.ca auth window, and the same screen comes back
without a message indicating the auth was accepted or not.
3. Break out of that, and FS asks for the auth code. If you don't have it and X
out, you go into an endless loop of errors. I had to start FF in safe mode and
disable plugin.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.10 in Xubuntu Natty.

Hi and sorry for the delay.

I tried to reproduce the error but I cannot. Are you sure you are using the
latest build http://firestatus.googlecode.com/files/firestatus-20110402.xpi

The fact that identi.ca auth window comes without a message indicating the auth
was accepted or not means that the auth was not accepted.

Probably, the loop happens because you have checked "Receive updates" and since
you did not authenticate correctly, firestatus asks you to authenticate again
the next time it tries to receive updates.
