This should not be assigned a medium severity as emails with double underscores are mostly not allowed in most email domains. For example, even gmail does not allow underscores in their emails (See: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/9211434?hl=en#:~:text=Special%20characters&text=Usernames%20cannot%20contain%20an%20ampersand,characters%20except%20periods%20(.).). We think that the requirements for the email are already quite loose to cater to most of our users. This is instead a feature flaw because this was intended. Hence, as this would minorly affect very little users, this issue is very much a lower priority than the work already done in v1.4.
