App fails code signature checking after extraction #759

After downloading and extracting this app: http://www.git-tower.com/download

I get an error to the effect that the developer did not sign the app with
Developer ID: https://twitter.com/dmdeller/status/491688689542909952

However, when extracting using Archive Utility, I do not get this error
message. (The developer did in fact sign the app with Developer ID).

I see the same issue with a downloaded app. If I unzip the file with
"unarchiver" I am told that the application is damaged and to dispose of it.
If I unzip the same file with the system Archive Utility.app the extracted
application will launch fine.

File is at <http://infinitekind-md980.s3.amazonaws.com/Moneydance.zip> but I
can attach a copy if you want a large file.

This seems to be some kind of odd OS X issue with extended attributes on signed
apps. I have not yet managed to find out if this can be worked around in The
Unarchiver or not, or if Apple will have to fix it.
