Right now the toolbar tools are spaced out and aren't representative of what we want. The goal is to have:

Chutter logo (which disappears in favor of a list icon on layout-sm)
Sign in (or maybe just an icon) for a non signed in user, which links to the signin / sign up modal

signed in user

Chutter logo (which disappears in favor of a list icon on layout-sm)
Username which links to your notifications (or maybe submissions? )
messages icon which links to your messages
if username doesn't link to notifications, then a notification icon
log out icon
