Script cleanups and edits #48

Made some scripts more readable and added new packages to setup.sh

Hi @amanthanvi, I appreciate the effort for this PR but IMO it doesn't change enough functionally. There also seem to be some breaking changes and the addition of tools that are not used within the script itself (?), as well as the undesirable edit to the README file.

Closing this PR for those reasons.
