I found it confusing that it was trying to fine a file called jruby-complete-9.1.0.0-SNAPSHOT.jar
since jruby 9.0.5 is the current release. However, I tried using the latest dev build of 9.1.0 (via rbenv) and got the same errors.
I should also of course note that I'm on OS X El Capitan and here are my Java/Scala versions:
➜ jruby-spark git:(master) ✗ java -version
java version "1.8.0_51"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_51-b16)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.51-b03, mixed mode)
➜ jruby-spark git:(master) ✗ scala -version
Scala code runner version 2.10.5 -- Copyright 2002-2013, LAMP/EPFL
I think I'm making some progress (FYI, I know Ruby, I'm a total noob when it comes to JRuby). Here's what I had to do to get a spark session running
jruby-complete-9.1.0.0-SNAPSHOT.jar
from http://ci.jruby.org/ and put it in libs.RubyInstanceConfig.IR_WRITING_DYN
in src/main/java/com/sensetime/utils/ProcToBytesService.java
. I'm really confused how you were using this. It's not mentioned in the master JRuby branch - https://github.com/jruby/jruby/blob/master/core/src/main/java/org/jruby/RubyInstanceConfig.javajruby -S rake package
./scripts/jruby-spark-repl.sh
, but it complained about not having the pry gem, but I was able to get around that by following this guide to packaging gems http://blog.nicksieger.com/articles/2009/01/10/jruby-1-1-6-gems-in-a-jar/Now I've got
jruby-spark/src/main/scala/org/apache/spark/jruby/JRubyIteratableAdaptor.scala:17
error: class JRubyIterator needs to be abstract, since method remove in trait
Iterator of type ()Unit is not defined
The latest commits work for me without having to do anything else. Thanks!
Hi, I tried following the directions in the README, but got an error:
Then I tried
rake package
, but got the following error:.... plus many more. Similar to @ondra-m's issues.
Any idea what could be going on?
