Twitter.com actually uses the browser history to keep track of tweets, TweetDeck is just a bunch of javascript magic. I'll try to hack in custom history and see how that goes, probably as an optional plugin included in the app, it's a good idea.
There will be no new features.
Whenever I click deeper into a tweet chain to read comments, it would be nice if TweetDuck kept track of the back history instead of just bringing me be back to the root hierarchy of the tweet in the column. It gets frustrating trying to replicate what you clicked to find your place again. This is how the Twitter web and mobile works.
