Fixing typos in README #114

Making various minor changes for article solving pull requests that contain minor tweaks, updating README etc...

@ragnhibs and @benmsanderson : I was kind of planning on chucking even more things in here, but so far I think these have completely "safe" issue fixes... The next things I plan on adding will likely change behaviour relative to the fortran code somewhat, or at least they might, or they will require a bit more thought, so maybe it's best to get these safe changes merged in now, and then move on to other things in separate PRs?

(Also, I know one test is not passing, but it's sort of a statistical fail it's the calibration that doesn't manage to find a good fit, which it just doesn't do every time...)
