Foreign language support.

One way to go about it. Start with creating a dict of all the words marked for translation. Get the translated version from online translators and populate the appropriate locale lang directory as one time job. Sounds pretty straight forward, except unless we know the foreign language being translated , there is no way to check for correction. @romsson I want to start with one or two foreign languages and see the results. Please suggest which one should I start with.

@sibamohanty Sorry for the delay on this. Eventually we'll want to support:

English Spanish Portuguese German Chinese Hindi Japanese

... and maybe a few others that we're waiting on confirmation from the bosses on.

But you're right, we should start with a test case. Why don't you see how good our results are for Spanish?

Indeed a good case are probably English, Spanish, and eventually French as I can then give immediate feedback.

Then regarding the full list I think we may use the current languages we already have in the atlas.

One more thing @sibamohanty : can you investigate such translating platform as https://www.coursera.org/about/translate where translators are volunteers? You may also find other ones, there are plenty for non-profit projects. And then you may compare with paid-services (in terms of delay, quality of results and supported languages)

I have signed up for the translation service https://www.coursera.org/about/translate is using , it's called https://www.transifex.com/ Will post few of the strings we need to translate there and see how it goes.

I have added Spanish lang for most of the home page using Google Translator. Do let me know if it's good enough. Will do the same for rest of the pages. And by end of this exercise, we can have the complete list of word for translation ready at one place.

One observation the styling is getting slightly off at few places once you change language to spanish.
