this is a non-impactful but significant issue which deals with usage of proper attributions/license(s) used throughout the project, below are the tasks that need to properly close this issue:
[x] need to update the repository LICENSE to comply with Open Science standards. a suitable candidate would be CC0 license but need to wisely read and pick the proper attributed one. it would be much nicer if we could provide proper attributions and related resources to better help contributors and community alike to understand why we are opting with this particular license over other Open Source licenses. more information can be found here at Choose an open source license, NASA TOPS GitHub and maybe CreativeCommons website.
based on some thorough analysis and research, turns out the CC0 license is better suited for our use case and has been added to the project. please refer to the above reference links for better explanation.
