xhyve is outdated. You have to use hyperkit. Install hyberkit. Start minishift like this: minishift start --vm-driver hyperkit

For me it seems you are starting up using virtualbox vm software. There is problems with virtualbox >5.

Yes. One year ago. :wink: I don't use minishift for daily evaluations anymore, since I am now fluent with the OpenShift objectschema. No need for local tests anymore. Most sophisticated details are of distributed nature. minishift is just ok for trying out OpenShift concepts. I guess you will find more on the respective minishift website.
