setting the theme manually to a dark one will still keeps the titlebar (client side decorations) light;
while investigating similar issue for other software (VSCode, Lapce…), I found out that Gnome tweaks with Legacy theme set to Adwaita dark does indeed set the application to dark, including the titlebar. However one's not expected to do this with recent Gnome setup. Due to changes about how dark/light is handled, this can also explain why this probably still works correctly with older Gnome versions.
Reproduction
Just have a recent Gnome with dark preference and run Cinny with default config (system theme preference)
Expected behavior
Dark theme preference should be respected. The titlebar (client-side decorations) should also be dark when setting manually the theme.
Platform and versions
ArchLinux, latest stable release installed from https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/cinny-desktop
Gnome environment on Wayland.
Describe the bug
On latest Gnome (43.1) that recently implemented different ways to have a dark or light mode (version 42), the system preference isn't considered. See, on that topic, this link: https://blogs.gnome.org/alexm/2021/10/04/dark-style-preference/
