The IOS ADCP dataset has a depth variable that is related to the instrument depth instead of the depth associated with the data of main interest, which is the current data.
Although it is true that some data presented within this dataset are related are at the instrument depth, the majority and the one of main interest are distributed within a profile above or below the instrument depth.
Suggestion for correction
I think the only possible way to clearly represent both types of data is to separate them into two different datasets.
One TimeSeriesProfile associated with the current profile data with the depth variable been associated to each current measurement.
(optional) One TimeSeries measurement associated with any measurement made at the instrument depth.
