CKAN is an open-source DMS (data management system) for powering data hubs and data portals. CKAN makes it easy to publish, share and use data. It powers datahub.io, catalog.data.gov and europeandataportal.eu/data/en/dataset among many other sites.
This project has a fairly long legacy and it is difficult to keep documentation in sync with changes. Much of the important information about updates is contained in the release notes docs but aren't reflected in the README and documents in the /docs folder.
A review of those documents and issues is currently at work under the docs_update branch.
[ ] Merge updates from release notes into main readme or install document as appropriate
[ ] Clean up old references to production.ini and who.ini in favour of ckan.ini and .env files
[ ] Update example .ini file to include good default values for SLGO, Atlantic and National values (GeoJSON layers, spatial extent, theme CSS, icons, etc.)
