@koukaipan Sorry, I just found out I wasn't subscribed to this repo, what a fail.

I still haven't understood --cpu-type --restore-with-cpu fully to be honest. I just pass them both to equal the new CPU and everything does seem to work then.

One very direct way to see that is with logging e.g. as shown at: https://github.com/cirosantilli/linux-kernel-module-cheat/tree/bab029f60656913b5dea629a220ae593cc16147d#gem5-restore-checkpoint-with-a-different-cpu
