I designed the plots as static images in ggplot before making them interactive. Didn't realize some features changed or get removed when you use ggplotly. Had to substantially redesign all the plots afterward but I think they ended up better than before. Also, the images don't look the same in the html file as in the preview when I knit the Rmd, but I couldn't figure it out.

• Very clean looking ggplotly() objects. I can see a lot of manual changes made after generating the ggplotly() object. These modifications give the plots a nice, clean look.
• In the second plot, you probably should keep the legend identify which lines represent which countries. Some of them are hard to determine, even by hovering over the line and getting the tooltip. Which also makes very nice use of plotly's ability to hide different categories from the graph by clicking on the legend entry.
• Okay, I just read your defense justifying removing the legend. I'm not sure I like doing this, but I can understand why you chose to omit the legend
• The visualizations themselves don't look terribly complex or like you put in a bunch of work, but clearly the code shows a lot of consideration of different aesthetic elements that give the plots a clean feeling. Excellent!
