Thank you for the extension. I will be attending your office hours next week to hopefully follow up on this, as I am not satisfied with what I was able to generate.

• Rather than using conditionalPanel(), you could dynamically update the year input. By that, I mean in the server() function, create output$year. This should be a vector containing all years of data available based on the country specified in input$country, which is then used to create a reactive UI element. Alternatively, update*Input() might do what you want. I agree you need to find a programmatic way to do this rather than hardcoding it for each country.

• The plot doesn't work because you didn't write the code for it. I cannot even get the basic bar plot to run. Remember that the filtered data frame is not actually a data frame - it is a function. So in the call to ggplot(), you need to refer to it as such:

  ggplot(filtered(), aes(x = variable, y = value)) +
    geom_bar(stat = "identity")

• You got very ambitious with this assignment but weren't able to pull it together 😞
