Save from Code Editor #220

I was trying to edit and existing style using CSL Editor (just trying to customize an existing style). I used the Code Editor. However I couldn't find the Edit > Save button. When I clicked on the Visual Editor I lost all the changes made to the style I was changing and a small screen appeared asking me if I would like to change APA style. Did I do something wrong? How can I save changes from the code editor? Thank you

Changes you make in the Code Editor will move over to the Visual Editor (and vice versa) when you toggle between the two. If that's not the case, we'd need steps to reproduce.

Saving is currently only possible from the Visual Editor view via Style --> Save Style.

Hello! It used to do so but not anymore. Here are the steps I followed. Thank you Style_Code_EDITOR_How to Save.docx

How about trying the same on editor.citationstyles.org ? I'm not seeing this and if it only occurs on the version of the editor at Mendeley, you'd have to talk to their support. We have no influence over the version of the editor they deploy (which is definitely a good bit behind our version but also has other features related to Mendeley integration, which may be interfering)

Hi! I'm having the same issue. Please teach me how to save the code in CSL mendeley editor. I just need all et al. to be in italics. I do not have a coding background.

Not sure I follow. Is the problem changing the code or saving it?

I edited the citation style file in my local drive and it worked. (In my case, the citation style files were found in C:\Users[username]\AppData\Local\Mendeley Ltd\Mendeley Desktop\citationStyles-1.0)

@MBonich, I am experiencing the same issue. However, I went into ~/Users/../Mendeley Desktop/Resources/citationStyles-1.0/ and edited the CSL file there. Then I dragged that .csl file into Mendeley App, but going into View > Citation Style > More Styles and dragging and dropping the .csl file in there. It worked for me. Hope that works for you too. PS. I am on MAC
