The format should accept single digits also. I.e. 6, 6, 1984 or 06, 06, 1984.

After our a11y retest today we noticed that Gov.uk have implemented a stepper input for dates. https://design-system.service.gov.uk/components/date-input/

@manalishi79 - can you provide a little more context and detail, I'm not sure what I should be looking at on that Gov UK site.
