I remember seeing this in Henry's email.
While I agree that it's an important feature which should be introduced, I don't think it's the biggest or most important at this point. More important, I believe, is getting the data into a database and doing more work on the back end in general. Either way, I'm not sure how I'd approach it - any ideas on how we could implement it?
And I'm not sure if I agree with
After shift is released it would bring up a box with the data for the whole area.
Keep in mind that I've been thinking of the "box with the data" being a slide out side bar from the right. I imagined the experience as
That way the user doesn't have to release the shift button to see the sum of the data, they can see the adjustment as each block is selected.
Thoughts? Would it be too heavy on some clients?

I think the biggest additional feature needed is being able to aggregate several block groups to get a total or average for the whole area. This would entail holding shift and clicking multiple groups, and them becoming highlighted by doing so. After shift is released it would bring up a box with the data for the whole area.
