2 years ago Ok, so afaict there are several issues here:
- Rail tool gets stuck with terraforming(yellow) highlight even if no modifier buttons are pressed. Unfortunately can't reproduce that, needs information. Also may have been fixed along with other changes.
- Terraforming mode intervered with removal mode if both modifiers are pressed or configured to the same button - fixed.
- Terraforming mode is still unfinished and is known to be buggy, at least in multiplayer - hide it behind a setting for the time being.
So, overall, I consider this bug closed, please open a new one if problems still persist.

Expected result
Pick and build usual rails, have a separate configurable button to enable the yellow-ish rails mode. Do not enter that mode when pressing CTRL with polyrail tool.
Actual result
Yellow-ish rails appears sometimes after pressing some keys (unfortunately I did not understand which ones). I know that is supposed to level ground under the rail but it works… pretty weird
Also it pick wrong direction to level the ground
When I need to remove some rails using the poly-rail tool, it becames yellow-ish
After releasing the mouse button the rails are deleted as with the normal use of CTRL-rail removing, but the terrain is also flattened
Steps to reproduce
Try to CTRL+click remove rails with poly-rail tool… and something else, I myself have not yet understood by what principle the rail-tool changed to this mode.
