"metadata" extra breaks things **severely**

On a tutor-based Palm install

And if you then reload the page, it breaks the entire page rendering it unrecoverable:

I kept removing things until I ultimately isolated this as due to the "metadata" extra that's included in the README.md on this repository. You might want to remove that from the example.
