Austin IT Governance has 8 Governing Boards (to Dept Directors and Dept IT Leaders)
Roadmap goes along with SD 23 Indicators, high level view, not a lot of detail, gives executives tools to see where GIS is focusing.
Roadmap can get departments to come together with funding to accomplish projects
Document project requirement in context of business need, not just we need this product
Data Collection - Mostly big data, Ortho Imagery, NearMap, Lidar, Impervious Cover
Real-Time Data - updating at a specific time interval like GeoEvent, TriTech (fire), etc.
Location Analytics - combine business intelligence analytics with GIS
GIS Platform Modernization - Migrating to Pro, getting viewers to Web GIS, Cloud Migration
Esri contract is up next year, will be looking at the new levels for licensing: Creator, Viewer, Field Worker, Editor, GIS Professional (we use concurrent licenses which is cheaper then per license) https://www.esri.com/en-us/arcgis/products/arcgis-online/pricing
Andrew will be meeting with departments before changes occur to see what will work best for each department
Drone data was mentioned as drones are being used more, the data will need to be housed somewhere and it's large. CTM has been discussing data retention policies for data.
Daniel Davis brought up an audit for GISDM as there seems to be data that's put there and then not used, ability to search for data, a way to keep GISDM current.
New tool to put all of SDE (GISDM) into ArcGIS Enterprise, stand alone and shared services
Will be able to show revision of the Roadmap at the April GIMOB Meeting.
