request for selecting more than one answer (from sarah cronin at library) #17

In a few places it would have been nice to be able to select more than one answer and/or have a place to write in more information. It could be specific to the Library, but we use both the annual city satisfaction survey, and we have our own survey tool. Our survey results don’t count towards the KPI, but we do use them.

this is really good feedback. the original focus of this survey exercise was to identify potential open data treasures... so any chance to capture those would be a win.

however... when we convert questions from "choose one answer" to "choose all that apply", we complicate the results data. for each question that we convert, we'd be adding 4-6 more columns to the response record. currently we're at 35 columns. gettin kinda squirly... plus adding more columns means additional programming time.

if the team feels the value is there, we should consider it. in similar conversations thus far, we've resolved to focus on the KPIs and make note of where we could dive in deeper on this stuff in the future. if we decide that we won't capture additional collection tools this time around, we'll need to clarify the questions (maybe add something like "choose the best answer") and suggest people leave us notes in the feedback box.

we'll discuss friday!

okay.. reviewed with group and we're all good. will add some helper text to the survey and suggest people leave extra information like this in the feedback box
