Other takeaways:

Possible OSAC agenda item in 2019: How we organize around smart city. We've matured. Now see need to align to strategic direction. Where are the overlaps, redundancies, gaps?

CM Kitchen's comments on smart city at Council Work session 10/16/18 http://austintx.swagit.com/play/10162018-888/0/

They were very brief comments, I think just to express interest in discussing more about smart cities as part of the strategic direction -- government that works outcome area. Council was prioritizing issues for deeper conversation within that outcome area for upcoming work sessions. CM Kitchen spoke to remind people that smart cities is "our effort to use technology most effectively and efficiently." The Council did not come back to that issue, so I'm assuming her comments were to flag it for more discussion down the road.
