Hey, First of all i want to thank you for the amzing job you do! I really like papermerge as my DMS.

In my opinion there ist a few little thinks, which will make a good programm even better ;) The most thinks i would like to see, are already suggested (OCR Layer on the PDF for export, Automates for Metadata, re-trigger automations, Automates for rename files.

But there is these one "Big Thing" I was struggling by so many programms. And also papermerge hasn't the perfect solutions for me yet.

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. I get many invoices via email. Most of them have a pdf attachment with all informations. So here papermerge works like a charm, other then many other programms how haven't any kind of email handler. But theres also companys, which provides alle the information just in the email body (e. .g eBay). And the the struggle beginns. At the moment point i need to manualy convert the email to an pdf an then upload the file to the inbox.

Describe the solution you'd like In my dream papermerge will combine the email body and all attachments to one big pdf file.

Describe alternatives you've considered I spend the whole day for searching an out of the box solutions with docker. Well i wasn't successfully. So i will use the import from papermerge for 90% of my mails and import the other 10% manual.

Again thank your very very much for your great work. I am excited for papermerge 2.0

Regards,

w4tzmann

@w4tzmann, the thing is, starting with Papermerge 2.0 has a feature called import pipelines which enables development of 3rd party apps/plugins which allow extra magic on imported documents (via web, email or from shared document). One of the ideas for import pipelines would be obviously what you have mentioned - converting imported emails to PDF. This is something which I experimented with and looks like a good thing to have.
