I'll just add - while there are some small things like this issue and the contact menu on the left that I am not a fan of, overall, the look and feel is a HUGE IMPROVEMENT. Thanks for your work on this!
I'm under the assumption that it might eventually house more information. If you look at the screens for CiviHR, it utilizes that space. I brought up the same issue in another thread. It looks like someone might be able to fund the development for it: https://github.com/civicrm/org.civicrm.shoreditch/issues/215.
The problem is that for all my clients this is 100% wasted space, which contributes to being able to see only a few contact records before you have to scroll to see more. See this question
@AkA84 I see you tagged this issue as design. Any plans for what this space will look like? Will it emulate CiviHR? I know you all just fixed the image loading correctly in that space, so just curious how you're going to build upon that. How will that space look if an image is not added?
Ah - this issue has just been pointed out to me - this issue is a big deal in my personal feelings about shoreditch but it seems to not bother our users.
Hey guys, I'll see if we can get an updated design done which minimises the wasted space. We have a bit more maturity on the design front now from some lessons learnt which I think we can utilise. Then we can see whats involved in the implementation.
thanks @jamienovick
I'm all for "white space" and not crowding things in, but this big swath of blank space at the top of the contact record seems like a waste of an opportunity to me. Does it make sense to either make it shorter from top to bottom, or put some display data in there (title and organization, or address, or maybe a picture on the right if one exists for the contact) that gives you a quicker overview of the contact?
