Time makes heroes but dissolves celebrities

Golden rule. Lead by an example. Don't be a hypocrite. Law of unattended consequences

Self knowledge and outward focus

Accessibility, support, recognition, empathy, shared responsibility

Ko-mei: together change

Know about your company, what's goals are and go beyond in that direction

Get things done: set goals, set time aside each day - just a little each day makes a big difference. Spend time thinking, just don't do

Improve performance. Seems just like what Scott did. Try to inspire to get more. Feels like manipulation. Collaboration helps, supports and lifts up. It's everyone advantage to share leadership. Make meetings productive. Know what to change but also what not to change. Meeting management.

Forget worry: identify it. Happen when we don't live in the present. Replace I can't with I haven't up to no. It'll be a challenge. Now is my moment to shine.

Think effective: not as much about knowledge but curiosity. Have an appetite for ambiguity. Tolerance for failure. Getting the right things done. The latter you're climbing is against the wrong wall.

Refining work habits: persistence. 5 work and 5 personal goals, don't need to have the how. Planning. Organize your physical surroundings, mental surroundings, take time to relax. Lifelong learner. Make goals your identity.

Keep up with information: information anxiety, too much coming in.

Balance work and professional life: who am I? What is really important to me?

Use the power of the self fulfilling prophecy: your expectations, your prophecies about yourself, will have a powerful effect on your future. Leaders not only need to provide encouragement but also resources to do the job. Actions must match words. We act, or fail to act, not because of will but because of imagination.
