Therefore, checksums fail, as it's not possible to use the git repository info to determine how git treats the line endings.

Workaround:

if repository is not a git repository, use both methods to calculate the checksum; give warning that it's not a git repo, but allow the check for correct checksum to pass

With the new worcs version, this error is not present anymore
