This issue proposes some changes to the visual narrative and content of the homepage, as it is beneficial to CKAN's narrative to highlight that it was recently recognized as a Digital Public Good by the DPGA.

yes, we can. @popovayoana do you have any thoughts about it?

@lucpretti, fantastic initiative on integrating the DPG element on our homepage - it's a valuable addition! I've reviewed the proposed changes and have a couple of suggestions to further refine the design:

  1. OKF Logo Placement I'd try aligning it differently for a more cohesive look e.g.: Footer

  2. Differentiating Sections I noticed that the "CKAN is now DPG" and "Join our next webinar" sections seem to merge visually (in spite of the dividers. To enhance UX and make each section distinct, how about having a subtle background color for the "Join our next webinar" section (the whole container)? This could help in clearly demarcating the two sections, making the page more navigable and aesthetically pleasing.

let me know what you think // cc @Alex-Pavlyuk @amercader

@popovayoana Your suggestions are great, thanks for that. All good on our side. If @Alex-Pavlyuk and @amercader are ok with them, you can please proceed with implementing the changes.

@popovayoana It's done. Please check. Waiting for your feedback.

@alexmorev love it! just a few quick adjustments:

Footer

important: when making these changes, please ensure that the left text container aligns with the right one. the text in both columns should start and end at the same levels - the beginnings and endings should line up perfectly.

@popovayoana Fixed.

@alexmorev @Alex-Pavlyuk it's perfect, just two minor things:

  1. can we fix the height of all logos in the footer so that they match? the letter height should be equal across all logos (otherwise, it creates an optical hierarchy)
  2. can we change the "Learn more" link in the "CKAN is now a Digital Public Good" section to point to: https://ckan.org/blog/ckan-is-now-a-digital-public-good?
