General rethink caching #92

Currently we make a network request every time we open a detail item activity. We should limit this behavior to only make a network request (to check for updates) every once in a while. Some bugs:

[ ] When we make the network request, it should not switch fragments for the user (say the user swiped into the chapter fragment; right now the network request finished and brought the user back to the detail fragment)
