Project is overly complicated #3

It seems this sample was made perhaps for an earlier version of MSBuild.SDK.Extras, because I find most of the properties defined are not necessary, including TargetFrameworkIdentifier, etc.

Correct...this was for the blog post. I need to update it to reflect MSBuild.Sdk.Extras since the point of the package was so people didn't need to do this :)
