How to apply dependency version ranges

The NuSpec version ranges and wildcards documentation describes how to set a valid range of versions of a package dependency. For instance:

• [1.0,2.0] means 1.0 ≤ x ≤ 2.0 (Exact range, inclusive)
• (1.0,2.0) means 1.0 < x < 2.0 (Exact range, exclusive)

Can ranges of dependencies be specified in the csproj file in such way that it can be applied to the .nuspec file?
