fixes partially #25 - only the process explanation be missing.

There are some TODOs left in this change that would be preferential to have before it is merged: (Opening PR to allow cross-collaboration and conversation tracking.)

This PR requires some edits still along with a review. There is information about some code that I'm not certain of.

It also requires a summary of the process.py, which should be best done by someone familiar with the code(, else it can be me).

All other issues documented above in unresolved conversations.
