No "EMIKAT" layers shown on the maps #80

Closed DenoBeno closed 4 years ago

DenoBeno commented 4 years ago

Today, no EMIKAT-produced layers show up on the map. I tried with old study and with a completely new one: tables are OK, maps are empty. No local hazard (temperatures), no population, no mortality.

EMIKAT WMS is not responding. We'll set-up service monitoring for this kind of issues.

humerh commented 4 years ago

The URL-Template is like this: url template https://service.emikat.at/geoserver/clarity/wms?service=WMS&version=1.1.0&request=GetMap&layers=clarity:view.2974&bbox=4672000.0,1979500.0,4687500.0,1988000.0&width=768&height=421&srs=EPSG:3035&format=image/gif&CQL_FILTER=STUDY_VARIANT='${study_variant}' and TIME_PERIOD='${time_period}' AND EMISSIONS_SCENARIO='${emissions_scenario}' AND EVENT_FREQUENCY='${event_frequency}' AND SZ_ID=${emikat_id}&styles=T_UTCI with 5 variables

but the emikat_id was not expanded:

https://service.emikat.at/geoserver/clarity/wms?service=WMS&version=1.1.0&request=GetMap&layers=clarity:view.2974&bbox=4672000.0,1979500.0,4687500.0,1988000.0&width=768&height=421&srs=EPSG:3035&format=image/gif&CQL_FILTER=STUDY_VARIANT=%27BASELINE%27%20and%20TIME_PERIOD=%27Baseline%27%20AND%20EMISSIONS_SCENARIO=%27Baseline%27%20AND%20EVENT_FREQUENCY=%27Occasional%27%20AND%20SZ_ID=&styles=T_UTCI

This error has to be corrected by the CSIS-Team

Zusätzlicher Grund für das Fehlen eines Ergebnisses: Die Stadt heisst bei "Martality rates": image

In der Definition der Study aber LIEPAJA. Damit werden keine Impacts gerechnet.

p-a-s-c-a-l commented 4 years ago

Is working again.

DenoBeno commented 4 years ago

Same problem again today. Asked Heinrich to see if it's on the EMIKAT side...

We badly need a monitoring service to detect this type of issues.

p-a-s-c-a-l commented 4 years ago

Apparently a server issue. Works again:

Monitoring is on the todo list.

DenoBeno commented 4 years ago

Yes, @humerh told me that the server has experienced memory overload.

Apparently something tried to get a full europe view of some data from it at some point. Don't know the details, @humerh could you please elaborate what happened?

This issue has a simple workaround (restart server), but we can't call Heinrich every time it happens. I suppose we need a separate issue for this bug, not sure if one already exists...

p-a-s-c-a-l commented 4 years ago

urgent @humerh @negroscuro

Mattia needs to perform a series of example studies in various Italian cities for the state level agency, so that he can to show that we can do studies in several Italian cities (regardless of the quality of numeric output).

Now, it seems that no HC-LE or impact is calculated for this study.

EMIKAT GeoServer returns an empty image.

Is this related to the discussion about the re-calculation of all HC-LEL input layers? Are the "old" HC-LE input layers still available so that we can create studies even if the results are not accurate yet?

What about the Export Geoserver layers from MTG to ATOS, does it have any influence on EMIKAT calculations, @humerh ?

DenoBeno commented 4 years ago

If it's urgent, @negroscuro needs to know about it to generate these first. The calculation is changing now and I doubt that we can have both the "old" and the "new" variant working at the same time.

negroscuro commented 4 years ago

Which cities are the ones needed for this Plinivs event? because I have more than 50 Italian citites that could be generated, so it is better to know which ones are urgent. @mattia-leone or @stefanon may answer this?

--edit--

I already got an answer via email:

--edit--

Cities are now loaded, but I am afraid Torino is not between available cities... (STL data is missing) so Genova has been loaded as replacement
