Doesn't appear to work on latest Chrome? #50

Azure Mask is no longer on the Chrome Store, and installing it manually fails with an invalid path error.

@essenbee thanks for taking the time to provide this feedback. I think something changed in Chrome since the last time I've packaged the extension that contributed a bit to the problem. I've repackaged it and install seems to work now but you may see some errors at runtime. I'm planning to take a deeper look into things in the upcoming week.

Let me know if you can at least install and if so we can close this issue.

Just found out about this and looking forward to when it shows up in the Chrome Store again :)

+1 to get it back in store. Loved to start using it in the new Edge Chromium based browser.

Current installation from source results in; " This extension is not from any known source, and may have been added without your knowledge."

stefanstranger commented 5 years ago

I just downloaded source code and and enabled it in Edge Preview Browser and works fine.

Installed the updated version 1.1.5 and the install from .zip file works great again. Thanks Brian!

SpaceShot commented 5 years ago

I just tried installing the crx myself in developer mode, and Chrome then told me it disabled it: "This extension is not from any known source, and may have been added without your knowledge."

The enable button is greyed out. I only tried this because I was going to try Edge Beta next... Firefox works fine and is my daily driver.

[UPDATE] Apologies... loading it directly from the crx download did not work. But loading it unpacked (extract contents from zip release and load unpacked) worked in Edge Beta and Chrome.

I've reached out to someone to check into the review process for this extension in the Chrome Web Store. It's been about 4 months sitting in the "Pending Review" status with the name change. Hopefully we figure out what's holding things up and can get an official one released in the store again.

Same as @SpaceShot

The solution is to use the source-code. (clone or download the code) In the release page (https://github.com/clarkio/azure-mask/releases) download the source-code zip file. Unzip it somewhere, then from the Chrome chrome://extensions/ page load an unpacked extension.

It's working perfectly. (try the .crx file first but it wasn't working for me)

Works like a Charm just drag the zip file from release
