Connecting to Hidden Network Crashes Settings #788

Clear Linux Version: 29590

Steps:

  1. Boot the Live ISO.
  2. Attempt to connect to a hidden network (it doesn't matter if it exists or not, but I tried with WPA2-personal).
  3. It crashes and doesn't connect to the WiFi network.

This might be hardware specific. I have a fairly generic everything-intel laptop though (the WiFi chipset is Network controller: Intel Corporation Wireless 8265 / 8275 (rev 78) according to lspci, and it's a 2018 LG Gram 13").

Same issue with Network controller: Intel Corporation Wireless 3160 (rev 83) on my Dell Inspiron 5558.

Here is a workaround to connect to a hidden network using nmcli.

Will not connect to hidden network and will not show in known networks list (fixed IP parameters lost). ClearLinux 30110. Intel Wireless Chipset.
