@cleidigh
A quick observation that is more Thunderbird than the plug-in and not sure if you're able to adjust.
When changing the printer in Thunderbird, for example to print an email, the plug-in changes from SAVE TO PDF to the printer selected which in this case is a paper based printer. Is there a way for the plug-in to keep the printer selection set in the plug-in itself?
For example, if the plug-in has SAVE TO PDF selected the printer changes to the paper based printer in the above example. It would be nice to have the plug-in keep the SAVE TO PDF selection or whatever selection is set in the plug-in itself.
@JF1313 Yes I would have to think about issues. Right now we have to get this release out. I am getting a bit burnt out. @cleidigh
@cleidigh
You've been remarkable at the changes and speed of responding to the requests. I'm with you on done is better than perfect to get the release out. Also, health is always first.
Keep up the great work!
@JF1313 Thanks, appreciate the thoughts and words. There is always more to be done.... @cleidigh
@kiki-ja @tidebre67 @RRoenn @JF1313 A last minute, new issue has come up.
This is also related to the issue with Conversations and has to do with identifying selected messages or determining tab contents. I have to rewrite this critical logic and utilize the WebAPIs as they will also be required for 115. I hate to do this now, but it's necessary. I already know what I need to do so testing that I don't break anything will be important. @cleidigh
@cleidigh As always, thanks for your commitment and attention to detail.
@kiki-ja @RRoenn @JF1313 @tidebre67 @dstark So as mentioned in
Several bugs including critical cache issue on all platforms and file picker on Linux.
So my goal is last testing tomorrow and software nymphs willing, release to Q end of day. @cleidigh
@kiki-ja @RRoenn @tidebre67 @JF1313 @dstark
It is in the Q !!! I did the last testing and found a couple small issues, fixed and done. @cleidigh
@cleidigh A note of thanks and gratitude for your continued time and effort!
@kiki-ja @RRoenn @tidebre67 @JF1313
Well nothing like having friends! I think Axel reviewed and approved v2.2.0 last night so it's live.
I would like to thank all of you for the great ideas and all the help to push ptng forward. It was a bit much at the end, but sometimes that happens. I am starting the release info now. As before I will do de and ja localization for ATN and I will give heads up if anyone wants to tweak Google %-)
Christopher
@JF1313 I just got the first review for v2.2.0 Unfortunately it's a problem. The post says they print once and then fails subsequently. It's not totally clear, but I think he is talking about external FiltaQuila printing. Since this is your way of printing, have you seen anything like this? Thanks @cleidigh
@cleidigh I've seen the same issue with PrintingTools NG + FiltaQuilla. The first email prints but subsequent emails do not.
@ryanhobrock Thanks for posting! I would like to tackle this ASAP, bummed having the first review be a problem. This was a major effort. I just created an issue to debug this. Can you post there with some more details like version info etc.
Thanks @cleidigh
@cleidigh @ryanhobrock Is the issue to print on paper or to print to PDF?
@JF1313 No details yet. I have made an issue
Hope to get clarity from @ryanhobrock @cleidigh
@cleidigh I print to PDF. I created a new filter that FiltaQuila uses with the plug-in to print to PDF. I had four back-to-back emails printed to PDFs without any issue using the latest version 2.2.0 of PrintingToolsNG
@cleidigh working fine still for me too, though I haven't had multiple emails in my inbox for the filter to go through at once like @JF1313 has.
@JF1313 Thanks I think I found the issue and it is with non PDF printing. I am testing now. Only issue is I may be out of paper and my caregivers cannot restock lol! @cleidigh
@dstark Thanks, I assume you are printing to PDF? I believe I have found the issue, it's with non PDF output. My problem is I can't test the solution as my printer ran out of paper and caregivers cannot touch it. If I post can you do a quick test? @cleidigh
@ryanhobrock @dstark @JF1313 See #179 for patch. @cleidigh
@cleidigh Thanks for the continued updates, time, and effort. New patch installed.
Thank you @cleidigh! The issue indeed occurs when printing to paper.
I have the beta patch installed. I'll post an update once I can get it tested.
