Instead of a plugin or a new design to add things like recording, what may be easier to add is an option to Open With Program with a right click function...

This way streamripper could be one of the apps the user could add but you could also open several more apps such as EasyTag, Gimp, Mp3Diags, etc etc...

Another benefit to an Open With option is that streamripper could be opened to record with outside of Clementine and you could still play your own music within Clementine

Other apps that could be setup within these command functions could be

Open with Terminal Open with Nautilus Open with Brasero Open with Gimp Open with Soundconverter

A mock up picture shows how it could happen and with command variables passed along you could include track path, album path, album art path etc etc

And of course all of these would be optional to the end users to setup or not.. Non intrusive...

Of course I have shown Linux based commands but both Windows and Apple/Mac users would have their own programs and commands

This change would go far beyond my expectations, all I original asked for was to be able to record a streaming radio station. I hope MANY people fell this way and will promote this change.

Please add an enhancement to record songs from streaming radio stations (using streamripper). This enhancement would make a good music play a great music player.

thankyou, Charles Wright

this would be a perfect way to get to things like sending a playlist to a cd burning program or to be able to tell the database to send a copy of cover art from the database to the file folders on a device.

A Streamripper Plugin like in the old Amarok 1.4 would be nice. Or any of the suggestions on this page would do the job as well.

Please add Streamripper support... :-)

I'm still using the old Amarok and from time to time I take a look at Clementine waiting for this recording feature to appear. The day this will happen I'll know that Clementine is a complete player and I'll have no reason to hang on Amarok. Until then old Amarok is still the best Linux player.

That's a real pity, is still a kinda young project and my hopes are still high though... This and moodbar support like in the old Amarok will definitely turn Clemetine in the coolest and best player by far.

I find it absolutely important to record a streaming audio because RECORDING was ever absolutely the MUST Feature of Hifi Equipment. Otherwise its incomplete. Not beeing able to record if I want makes me feel uncomfortable because I know if I suddenly hear my dreamsong I'm not able save it..;
